Dr. Donnie Jung grew up on a ranch in Harper, Texas, where his family raised sheep, cattle, and pigs. The winding Pedernales river provided the perfect backdrop for him to learn how to appreciate nature, ranching, and the abundant hill country wildlife.
Donnie Jung attended Texas A&M University and received a BS in Animal Science in 1982 and Veterinary Science in 1984. Accepted into the School of Veterinary Medicine at TAMU, he found himself in the same class as his future wife, Margaret. Graduating with a doctorate in 1986, Dr. Jung gained practical experience at a large animal practice in Fredericksburg and then moved to a small animal practice in Austin. In 1988, Dr. Jung and his wife opened Highland Lakes Veterinary Clinic in Marble Falls.
Equally as important as the animals are the clients that Dr. Jung has met over the last 25 years. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and he strives to provide quality medicine and customer service to his clients and their pets. Dr. Jung truly enjoys his clients' friendship and works to help strengthen the bond between them and their pets by providing the best care possible to his patients. Practicing quality medicine helps to ensure a long and pain-free life for his patients.
Outside of the practice, Dr. Jung enjoys ranching, white-tail deer hunting, and spending time with his family. He also loves country music and sings in a band that plays at church festivals, weddings, and dances. He has also recorded several CD's over the years. However, Dr. Jung's major interests are his three children, his wife Margaret, and his faith in God.
